Gymnastics 2018

-In the month of February, students will work on the application of basic skills in educational gymnastics by experiencing, refining, selecting and performing.  They will be working on sequences, stunts and tumbling.  Gymnastics is a progressive unit and will begin with floor gymnastics, followed by benches and balancing.  In the third week of gymnastics the students will have an opportunity to safely utilize the Canadian Climber at CJFS.  We will be having mission impossible in the last week of February as a culmination of what we have learned in the unit.

Terry Fox Run Update

Terry Fox Run 2017

Our school’s Terry Fox Run was held on Friday, September 29th at 10:30 am.   It was a beautiful sunny day for everyone to be out running and raising money for cancer research.  Our students did an amazing job this year and raised a total of $568.00.  Cut-out paper twoonies are on display around the gym to help students visualize how much money we raised. Thanks to everyone who helped make it a success.

Sports Club

Starting on Monday, September 18th we began to offer a sports club during the lunch hours for grade 5/6 students. Students who wish to participate will be able to take part in this club every Monday at lunchtime until the month of June, 2018.  The sports club will take place in the gym and we will be playing different sports that the students have played during their Physical Education classes.   Participation in extracurricular activities requires both commitment and modeling of appropriate behaviour.  It is an expectation that students remember to stay at school on the day they play and demonstrate sportsmanship and positive interactions.
